Aegan music album on October 9th

Its romance in the Swiss Alps for the hit pair of Billa - Ajith and Nayantara. They will be seen together on the silver screen again in Aegan which is at the last stages of its shooting. The last song for Aegan slated for Diwali release is being shot in Interlaken in Switzerland which is located at the heart of the Swiss alps. The choreographer for the song is Raju Sundaram.

Ajith will woo Nayantara for this melodious number tuned by music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. Its said that Nayantara is all set to increase the heartbeat of her fans in this song clad with Yash Chopra-style chiffon sarees designed by Nalini Sriram while Ajith will woo his fans with designer Suits.

The entire talkie portion and other songs of the film have been completed. The audio of the film will have a soft launch on Thursday (Oct 9), which is Vijayadasmi day, as the entire unit of the film will be in Switzerland on the day. The film will have a big Diwali day release worldwide in over 400 screens.

Ajith will be seen in this film with Navdeep, Nayantara, Suhasini and Piya. Navdeep acts as Ajith's brother and Suhasini appears as his mother.  Jayaram acts as college principal and Nayantara as the lecturer.  This is the re-make of Shah Rukh Khan's Hindi film 'Main Hoon Na'.

Deepavali race at the box office

It would be an interesting battle at the box-office for Deepavali. The movies releasing to lighten up the festival include Surya's 'Vaaranam Aayiram', Ajith-starrer 'Aegan', Madhavan's 'Guru En Aalu' and Bharath's 'Seval'.

Interestingly, Dhanush's 'Padikathavan' and Silambarasan's 'Silambattam' have backed out of the race at the last moment. It looks likely that they would hit the screens in November.

Expectations are high for 'Varanam Aayiram' that brings together the stunners Suriya and director Gautham Vasudev Menon after 'Kaakha Kaakha'. Ajith's 'Aegan' is expected to open big as it's a come back stylish venture after 'Billa'. Hari wields the megaphone for 'Seval'. Madhavn's 'Guru En Aalu' is inspired by Bollywood hit 'Yes Boss'.

Ajith nears his half-century

Close on the heels of actor Vijay nearing his 50th film, actor Ajith too has joined him in the race. 'Aegan' starring Ajith, is his 48th film (directed by choreographer Raju Sundaram) which is ready for release on Deepaavali. His next would be directed by Gautham Menon for Sivaji Productions. All eyes are now focussed on who would direct Ajith for his 50th film.

Interestingly Vijay's 48th film is 'Villu' and is directed by Prabhudeva. His next would be 'Vettaikaran' followed by his 50th film to be produced by his father S A Chandrasekharan. The director is still to be finalised.

The fact that two popular heroes of Tamil cinema nearing their  50th film is a moment to cherish for their fans.

Aegan nears completion

Ajith's much awaited Aegan is nearing completion. According to latest reports, the crew of Aegan will leave soon for the Swiss Alps to shoot for a song in the film. The rest of the portions have already been shot in locations inside and outside India.

The major attraction of the film will be the super pair of Ajith and Nayantara who after the stylish Billa are teaming up for the film. The entire unit including Ajith and Nayantara will fly to Switzerland on Monday, October 6th from Chennai. The unit will spend a week in the beautiful locations in Switzerland to shoot the song. One highlight of the song is that it is going to be picturised in Yash Chopra style with Nayan wearing schiffon saris designed by Nalini Sriram. Tuned by Yuvan Shankara Raja, the soft melody will be choreographed by Raju Sundaram.

The action packed film is expected to be released on Diwali and all eyes are on Ajith to give out a more stylish performance than Billa.

Ajith vs Surya vs Simbu in Deepavali?

With Deepavali hardly a month away, the race has begun to get movies into theaters in time for the festival weekend. At the moment, however there is only one confirmed entrant for the Deepavali weekend and that happens to be Simbu's Silambattam. He will be searching for an elusive hit and Silambattam seems to have the right credentials for the same. The movie will feature Simbu in a dual role for the first time after Manmadhan.

Meanwhile, with Silambattam as the sole confirmed entrant, at least three others are bending their backs to get into theaters for what will be a fairly quite Deepavali. Bharath's Seval under the direction of commercial rural action king Hari is almost ready and the promos are already on air suggesting the usual Hari fare of action in the village milieu. The rugged looks of Bharath have drawn attention. Also Hari's impeccable record when it comes to action flicks has made the movie go a bit high on the expectation meter.

But, all eyes are on the other two gearing up for release. Vaaranam Aayiram and Aegan may clash on Deepavali for sparks to fly, if everything goes as planned. Reports suggest that the works are progressing with fervor to meet the date and nothing can be said as yet. But, with the music released and the promos on air, Vaaranam Aayiram seems to be the more bankable option to make it for the festival season, but Aegan can by no means be ruled out. One need not talk about the expectations that these two movies have generated and if they do face off, it will be one great Deepavali.

'Aegan's music soon

Ajith's 'Aegan' is the most awaited film now.  That this film comes after a great hit 'Billa' is one reason.

The other reason is this is the first directorial effort of Raju Sundaram.  Others who act along with Ajith in this film include Navdeep, Nayantara, Suhasini and Piya.  Navdeep acts as Ajith's brother and Suhasini appears as his mother.  Jayaram acts as college principal and Nayantara as the lecturer.  This is the re-make of Shah Rukh Khan's Hindi film 'Mein hun na'.

Ayangaran Films have produced the film.  Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director of the film and the songs will be released on Vijayadasami day, that is, on 9th of this month.

Reports say that the film is produced very well.  Raju Sundaram has paid particular care for the songs.  One speciality is that Ajith has no dupe even in risky shots.  Another special is that the film will be screened on Deepavali day.

Aegan audio launch on Oct 9

The audio launch of Ajith's Diwali release Aegan is scheduled to take place on Oct 9 on the auspicious day of Vijayadasami.

It is a hattrick of sorts for Yuvan and Ajith after Dheena and Billa. The buzz is that the songs of Aegan are rocking. The shoot of Aegan is complete and there is just one song to be shot on the lead pair of Ajith and Nayantara.

The unit will be going to an exotic place by first week of October according to a source close to the unit. There are five songs in the film, which is produced by Ayngaran International.

Ajith on his pilgrimage Tour

Ajith seems to have acquired certain traits of religious beliefs from Rajinikanth. It was during the pre-release of Billa that Rajnikanth offered him dinner and gifted a novel called 'Living Masters of Himalayas'. And then started Ajith's new venture on religious aspects as he started making regular visits to all the temples. Recently after completing his 'Aegan', he had visited Shitty Saibaba temple and returned Chennai for dubbing.

Yesterday, he made his way to Sottanikarai Bhagavathy Amman Temple. Very shortly, he has planned to travel across Tirupathi, Kollur Thai Mugambigai and other temples.

Aegan dubbing work completed

Ultimate Star has turned more spiritual now these days that he visited and offered prayers at Shirdi Sai Baba temple last week and Chottranikarai Bhagavathy Amman temple yesterday on September 26, soon after he finished dubbing for 'Aegan' in Chennai. 

Before acting in the remake film 'Billa', he personally met and received greetings from Super Star where he was delighted with a feast and was presented a book 'Living Masters of Himalayas'. Ajith simply got immersed and overwhelmed while reading it. Rajinikanth's involvement in spirituality and his visit to temples before the release of his films are well-known. Even during the release of 'Sivaji-The Boss', Rajini made a visit to Temple in Tirupati and sought the blessings. 
 
It seems that Ajith, has started following the footsteps of Super Star in his spiritual path. Ajith too has plans to go Tirupati Lord Venkateshwara temple and to the famous Kollur Thai Mookambikai Temple whilst his aegan will release at the October end.

Ajith and Sameera joint Gautham film

We all know that Ajith's 'Aegan' is set for a Deepavali release. But, the question that lingers is, what's the next venture of the ultimate star? Talks and buzzes are going around that Ajith has joined hands for the first time with Gautham Vasudevan Menon for Sivaji Productions.

Ajith will don the role of a gangster, which he's poise in doing after 'Billa' and Sameera Reddy has been roped in to play the role of his girl friend. As usual, Gautham's Chief Marksman Harris will score the music. Nirav Shah, the man behind the grand looks of 'Billa', will wield the camera once again for this flick.

Director Gautham has suggested an attractive title 'Surangani' for the film. But the same title has been registered for another film which is under production. Sivaji Productions is currently making negotiations with the producers to acquire the same, catchy title.

The film will go to the floors in November and is slated to be released on April 14, 2009.

'Varanam Aayiram', 'Aegan' in USA

'Aegan' and 'Varanam Ayiram' are slated for release on the 24th and 28th of October respectively. Latest developments are that Bharat Creations, a leading distributor of Tamil and Telugu films in the United States of America has acquired the distribution rights for these films. Vikram's 'Kandasamy' and Vijay's 'Villu' which would release much later have also been acquired by Bharat Creations.

Both 'Varanam Ayiram' and 'Aegan' are expected to do very well. Suriya is at his best in 'Varanam Ayiram', which chronicles the life of a man from childhood to old age. Suriya has undergone drastic physical changes to portray the physical characteristics associated with youth and middle age. Surya will be seen in dual roles. For director Gautham Menon this is his seventh film and his earlier movie with Suriya "Kaaka Kaaka" turned out to be a major blockbuster. The Gautham Menon - Harris Jayaraj - Suriya team is all set to recreate the magic once again. Sameera Reddy, Divya Spandana and Simran co-star with Suriya.

'Aegan' is the debut film for Raju Sundaram as director. The film stars Ajith and is the remake of the successful Hindi movie 'Main Hoon Na'. Nayantara, Navdeep, Suhasini Ratnam, Nassar and Jayaram will also be seen in the film. The combo of Ajith and Nayantara is highly anticipated as both sizzled together in 'Billa'. Ajith - Nayantara - Yuvan Shankar Raja, the people behind 'Billa' are expected to conjure the magic once again with 'Aegan'.

Vijay & Ajith in AVM

Villu team is back from their Euro trip that lasted for about a month. As soon as the crew returned, the next leg of shooting seemed to have begun at AVM Studios. Scenes of Nayantara meeting Vijay in his office, the plush interiors of which were made to reflect an office abroad, were shot. Although the team was in Europe for quite some time, the indoor shoots that demand continuity are to be shot in Chennai.

Interestingly, Ajith has also been spotted these days in the AVM Studios. Aegan is more or less wrapped up completely and is ready for a Diwali release. Post-production works are in full swing and Ajith is busy with the dubbing which would go on for three days, sources mentioned.

Ajith's next film?

After 'aegan,' Ajith had given his call sheet to AVM. It is supposed to be directed by Gautham Vasudeva Menon but it seems the director is yet to tell the story to the producer.

'Arasangam' Madesh had narrated a story to Ajith, who liked it and that set Madesh working on the next step. A catchy title like 'Thalaivan' is ready too. So, would Ajith do the AVM film or Madesh film next?

Aegan - Jayaram Press meet

Actor Jayaram seems to be the toast of Tamil Cinema after being part of the successful ventures 'Dhaam Dhoom' and 'Saroja'.

On opting to play a baddie in 'Dhaam Dhoom', he said, "I was not keen to do a negative role. In my career which has spanned over 25 years, I was approached for the first time to play a villain. It lured me and hence I agreed. But then the role was a portrayal in a dignified manner".

Shooting for 'Saroja' was a terrific experience. Everyone was friendly on the sets and the youngsters involved in the project had the fire in them to succeed. Shooting for the movie was indeed a great joy'.

On his forthcoming film 'Aegan' in which he is cast alongside Ajith, Jayaram, said, "I play a comical role in the film. I appear all through the movie. I am sure it will bring the roof down in theaters with laughter".

Complimenting Ajith, he says, "He is a man of dedication. He speaks less but lets his films do the talking. He is one of the focused artistes in the industry".

Aegan in Piya

Piya who made her debut in Poi Solla Porom said," I was acting In Ad films in Mumbai. I had acted in an Ad film directed by Priyadarshan. He called me for the photo session of Poi Solla Porom. He selected me and I was the heroine of this film Poi Solla Porom. While I was acting in this film I also received an offer for Ajith's starrer Aegan.

Not much prominence was given to hero or heroine in the film Poi Solla Porom but there was a story. It is better to act in such films like this then to act for three hours in a film without a story. Though film with subject, our scope is limited but it is worth it. I am pairing with Navdeep in the film Aegan. I did not have many scenes to share with Ajith. I can never forget Ajith's appreciation. I will be the turning point in this film. I have a fascination to act in Hindi films. Talks are on to do a Hindi film. I will announce once this is confirmed. It is not true that I have changed my name as Preethi."

Yuvan Sankar Raja Audio Launch on Aegan and Silambattam

Yuvan Shankar Raja is going to have back-to-back audio launches. It is a rare feat for a music director to have audio launches of two of his films, one after another.

On September 30, the audio of Simbu's Silambattam, which has music by Yuvan is scheduled.

Simbu and Yuvan have always rocked together from Manmathan to Vallavan. So a lot is riding on Silambattam's music.

Next day on October 1, is the audio launch of Ajith's Aegan. Who can forget the peppy songs of the deadly combo in Dheena and Billa ?

Recently Ajith had told Raju Sundaram, the director of the film that he is very happy with the music of Aegan.

Samira Reddy makes her debut in Kollywood through the film 'Vaaranam Aayiram', directed by Gautham Menon starring Surya and Sameera.'Vaaranam Aayiram' crew promises that we can see more of her once the film hits the screens.
 
Samira Reddy has been roped in to feature opposite Ajith in a yet to be titled movie which is produced by Sivaji Productions and Gautham Menon wields the Megaphone.

This is the first time that Gautham and Ajith are coming together and  Gautham's chief marksman Harris Jayaraj is teaming up for Music to stun in this film too, as the duo has never parted or fallen short of expectations.

Aegan Diwali Release

Ayngaran international produced 'Aegan' is slated for a deepavali release making Thala fans more euphoric and would sure be an extravagance for the thunderous festival.

Aegan shooting completed

Aegan, directed by Raju Sundaram, starring ultimate star Ajith and Nayanthara is complete and the film is ready for post production and some patch work. Insiders reveal that the film is certain to make its mark and has shaped up very well. Now that Ajith has completed this project, he has some free time which he is putting into optimum use like spending quality time with his little princess Anoushka.

Close friends reveal that the doting dad is showering his daughter with gifts galore. The recent addition to this list is an expensive toy plane costing around twenty lakhs which is said to be controlled by remote control and could fly at a particular distance. Though Anoushka may not know to operate this right now as she is very young, she may start playing with it later. Readers may recall that Ajith has earlier gifted wife Shalini a remote controlled plane costing around few lakhs.

Nayantara - Aegan Vs Villu

Nayantara and she will tell you about how she discovered that staying on top is harder than getting there. She is a star who not only outlasts her flops but is forgiven for them.

After two consecutive duds like Kuselan and Sathyam (her biggest flop) Nayantara still rules Kollywood. But post Sathyam release, the actress was consciously avoiding the media, refusing to speak about her future moves and has a wall around her.

Recently the media went to town about her salary (rumoured to be between Rs 1.25 to 1.50) which is the highest paypacket any Tamil heroine gets. Kindly discount Aishwarya Rai getting Rs 6 crore to do Endhiran, because it's an exception.

The whole issue of her salary was stirred up after Lingusamy signed her up to do a film at a whopping rate with Karthik. There were rumours that he was not happy about paying her such a fat salary, after Sathyam fiasco and was on the lookout for another heroine.

Says the leading distributor in Tamilnadu: " Nayantara is the only heroine today who commands an opening, as she is able to attract the youth and family audiences. Her combination with superstars work wonders for the film. But if the story of the film is weak no superstar or super heroine can save the film. "In a way, Nayantara makes the marketing of Aegan and Villu easier for its producers Ayngaran International. Of course the success of these two films will determine whether she gets another round with them.

Aegan Audio launch on October 2

Ayngaran Films International is busy producing couple of big stars films at the same time: Vijay's Villu and Ajith's Aegan. Both the films are directed by brother directors each: Aegan – Raju Sundaram and Villu by Prabhu Deva. Since, releasing both the films would drop in the collections of each other; London Karunaas of Ayngaran Films has decided not to let the films clash. So, Ajith's Aegan would release for the occasion of Diwali while Villu will hit the screens for Pongal.

All the songs tuned by Yuvan Shankar have been churned out well. Earlier, both the duo had swayed together consecutively for the films 'Dheena' and 'Billa'. Audio for the film was supposed to be launched by this month and now it has been postponed to the first week of October. Buzzes are that it would be launched on the occasion of October 2 for Gandhi Jayanthi…

Remaking Hindi films in Kollywood

'Guru En Aalu' starring Madhavan is the remake of Shahrukh Khan's 'Yes Boss', while Ajith's under-production venture 'Aegan' is an adaptation of the Hindi hit 'Main Hoon Na'. Efforts are now on to do the Tamil remake of the Hindi blockbuster 'Jab We Met' which featured Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles.

The recently released 'Poi Solla Porom', directed by Vijay and produced by UTV and Four Frames, is a xerox copy of the Bollywood comedy caper 'Khosla Ka Ghosla'.

Fresh reports indicate that P Vasu is planning to do the Tamil version of 'Baazigar'.

Say industry men, 'with corporates from Mumbai stepping in to do Tamil movies, it is obvious that several Hindi films are being remade in Tamil. Moreover, after Bollywood, Tamil Cinema has huge global audiences. Therefore it is obvious that we are opting for the remake of Hindi hits'.

Aegan Vs Vaaranam Aayiram

Vaaranam Aayiram has been creating huge hype, more so because of the delays that it encountered. The latest buzz is that the shooting has been completed and just a few patchworks are on. It is now confirmed that Vaaranam Aayiram will make it to the theatres for Deepavali. A fitting competition for Vaaranam Aayiram will be Aegan, which has Ajith in the lead. Aegan, in fact has been targeting a Deepavali  release right from the beginning and is working towards it.

Diwali release

Diwali 2008, traditionally the second biggest festival in Tamilnadu is round the corner (October 27). As usual, Kollywood producers, distributors are just waking up to the season, and the line-up is still not clear.

As of now, no theatre has any confirmed booking for Diwali films. Some producers and distributors have asked them to block the dates, further to negotiations. Seven films are looking at a Diwali release, depending on MG amount and theatre dates.

The producers, who are now talking of a Diwali release, need not release it for the festival. It depends on a lot of factors and as all of them are yet to release their audio. The list may change at the last minute as some may opt out while others may come in.

The tentative list is as follows.

Aegan to release on Diwali

The much-awaited Ajith-starrer Aegan where he pairs up with Nayantara, the queen of South India, will have its audio launch on 11th October.  The film will be released during Diwali. This is not the first time that Ajith and Nayantara are paired together. Earlier, the remake Billa featured them both and was a big hit.

Aegan, which started shooting in late 2007, has completed the schedule and is now in its post production stage. Directed by Raju Sundaram, the film also features Navdeep, Suhasini, Nassar and Jayaram. Ajit is Aegan!

Karunamoorthy of Ayngaran International and his co-producer actor Arun Pandian in an official press statement has said that their Ajit film will be titled as Aegan and it will have Nayanthara as heroine. Aegan story and direction is by Raju Sundaram, with dialogues by S.Ramakrishnan who wrote for films like Sanda Kozhi, Baba etc. Camera is by Arjun Juna and music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. In supporting roles are Jayaram, Suman, Nassar, Suhasini Maniratnam and Navdeep. 15 days of Aegan shoot took place in Hong Kong and the unit will be shooting later in songs in Australia, Newsland and England

'Aegan’ release on October 24

Ayngaran International is producing 'Aegan' directed by Raju Sundaram. It is the re-make of the Hindi film 'Main Hoon Na.' Ajith does Shah Rukh Kahan's role of a military man. Nayantara does Sushmita Sen's role of a professor. Ajith's younger brother is played by Navdeep. Suhasini does the mother role. Jayaram is the college dean. A bearded Ajith does action scenes and a clean shaven Ajith sparkles in romantic comedy. Since Ajith's last film 'Billa' was such a hit, there is lot of expectation of 'Aegan.' Since most of the shooting is over, the producer has decided to release the film 3 days prior to Deepavali, that is on Oct 24. The audio release is scheduled for end of next month.

'Aegan' Audio Release coming soon

It is that time of season that would make Ajith fans jump for joy. The much-awaited 'Aegan' music album will hit the markets very soon.

Sources have it that Ayngaran International; the producers of the film have decided to launch the audio on the 5th of September, coinciding with Teachers Day. Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has scored the music, has reportedly worked hard in order to get the appropriate appeal.

Following the success of 'Billa', Ajith is hopeful that 'Aegan' would also make it big. Directed by Raju Sundaram, the film has Nayantara opposite Ajith while Navdeep plays his brother. The movie is said to be a remake of the Hindi hit 'Main Hoon Na'.

'The songs have come good and would top the audio charts, sources close to Yuvan Shankar Raja say. There is a right mix of hip-hop and groovy numbers in 'Aegan' and Ajith fans will cherish the album', they add.

Aegan Shooting Spot -Actor Jeyaram Special Interview

"Ajith is a man of integrity and principle. He is a thorough professional and truthful", says actor Jayaram.

The noted Malayalam actor is sharing the screen with Ajith in 'Aegan', He is bowled over by Ajith's amiable nature in the sets of 'Aegan', directed by Raju Sundaram.

Aegan Movie-Ajith goes to college

Ajith is busy shooting for 'Aegan', directed by Raju Sundaram. The film is produced by Ayngaran International and features Nayantara opposite him.

Following the successes of 'Varalaru' and 'Billa', Ajith is confident that 'Aegan' would also do well at the box office. Noted Malayalam actor Jayaram plays a prominent role in the film.

Jayaram plays the principal in the college that Ajith studies in. Interestingly Nayantara plays the role of a college lecturer.

Jayaram says 'Aegan' will have some rib tickling comedy.

'The comedy portion has come out great. Sathyan is the other actor who will have you in splits', he adds.

Aegan Shooting Schedule

Aegan Songs - Ajith and Nayantara

The filming of Aegan is fast approaching its final stages. The Aegan unit, which was in Yelagiri to shoot a few important scenes and a song featuring Ajith and Nayantara, has returned to Chennai after filming them. Following this, a few important scenes will be shot in Chennai and then the background score of the film will be completed, again in Chennai.

The film, which is a remake of the Hindi blockbuster Main Hoon Na starring Shahrukh Khan, is directed by dance-choreographer-actor Raju Sundaram. Interestingly, Farah Khan, a famous choreographer in Bollywood, turned director with Main Hoon Na.

Recently, Ayngaran International, the producers of this film, announced that the film will be ready for a worldwide release in September.

Aegan to storm in September

Good news for Ajith fans. The much-awaited movie 'Aegan', directed by Raju Sundaram and produced by Ayngaran Internationals, will hit the screens this September.

The movie reportedly a remake of 'Main Hoon Na' was shot in Hong Kong and other exotic locales. Nayantara plays Ajith's lady love.

Buzz is that a major portion of the shooting has been completed and re-recording would commence soon. Sources close to Ayngaran International, said, 'we are planning for the release this September'.

Aegan is remake of Main Hoon Na

Ajith's AEGAN is taking its shape in Chennai and will be completed by July last week. Almost 83% of the movie shoot is out and soon will start its post production work. From few days the whole script is out of AEGAN on the world wife web and is said that it is a carbon copy of Hindi film "Main Hoon Na". SRK played the lead role in this film. Ajith will be pairing with Nayantara in this film and actor Navdeep will be playing the character of his brother's role.
Some of the scenes are also leaked out in the "youtube" videos, but the director Raju Sundaram denies it as a rumor.

Ajith will be featuring in a film to be funded by the Catholic Archdiocese of Chennai, Mylapore, on St. Thomas. This 50 crore project will be launched this evening (03.07.08) at St.Thomas Cathedral, Santhome under the auspices of Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Karunanidi.

While disclosing details about the film, Dr.Paulraj Lourdusamy, chief researcher and script writer of the film said that St.Thomas will be a multilingual film made in many Indian languages. Currently, they are searching for faces with divine aura. He also mentioned that on a chance meeting with Ajith and Shalini, he had asked them if they would be willing to act in the film to which the star couple had given their consent. The film will go on floors from January in many locales in Kerala.

Aegan movie Ajith and Nayantara fans out there, there are some nice romantic scenes in Aegan which they missed in Billa.

Currently the lovely pair is shooting a romantic number at AVM studio choreographed by director Raju Sundaram.

A total of 10 sets were erected at the studio and it is a sort of a college cultural which will break out into a dream song with Ajit and Nayanthara.

The film which is inspired from Main Hoon Na, is set in a college where Nayan plays a college lecturer for whom Ajit falls hook-line-sinker.

A major portion of this film produced by Ayngaran International was shot in Yercaud at a Public school when it was closed down for summer vacation. The cast also has Suhasini, Suman, Navdeep and a new Mumbai model Piya in important roles and music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The shoot of Aegan is almost 75 percent complete. The unit is now planning to shoot a song abroad in the first week of July. The entire shoot will be over by July end, though release dates are yet to be confirmed

Aegan Ajith

Aegan Ajith, who is busy shooting for Aegan in Yercaud, was in the news earlier for his care and tolerance towards his fans. We recollect that he was inadvertently pushed by overeager fans who were overwhelmed by awe and thrill of being close to their hero. There was not a semblance of anger on Ajith's face when he got up. Instead, he calmly smiled at his fans, accepted their apologies and thereafter spent the rest of the day talking to them.

Recently, Ajith spent almost half a day with his fans who wanted to take photographs with him. He obliged everyone and made sure everyone left the spot happily. All this shows his caring nature.

It is good to know that Kollywood has stars who care for their fans and others. But at the same time, we, as fans, have an obligation to behave well with the stars, respecting their privacy and personal space.

Aegan song status

Aegan, the Ajith Kumar starrer directed by Raju Sundaram with Nayanthara as Ajith's screen partner is getting shaped up at a steady pace. According to insiders, the film is sure to be liked by everyone as it has romance, action and sentiments in right proportions. Songs in Indian films are very pivotal to their success and in Aegan too, there is no dearth of them.

There are totally five songs which are being penned by Paa. Vijay, Yuga Bharathi, Naa.Muthukumar, Kapilan and Snehan. Ajit & Nayan goes to Vizag!

Thalai Ajit is back to his normal looks. He has shaved of his shaggy beard and is spotting a new look for Raju Sundaram directed Aegan, being produced by Ayngaran International.

Last week Raju choreographed a peppy number tuned by music director Yuvan Shankar Raja which has a lot of cat calls and whistling on the lead pair Ajit and Nayanthara at Prasad studios in Chennai.

For the first time after My name is Billa…. fame, Ajit and Nayan are together in a song and this time it is a romantic number. Raju has choreographed it in a different style, and Yuvan spend a lot of time composing the number.

After the completion of the song late on Sunday evening, the unit of Aegan left for Visakhapatanam, on Monday for a 10 day shoot in the coastal town. Ajit is happy with the way the film is shaping out, nearly 40 percent of the film will be over after the present schedule.

As of now Aegan will be ready for an August 15 release.

Raju Sundaram directed the action scenes with the bearded Ajith.  But now, Ajith has removed his beard.

Director has given more importance to romantic and sentiment scenes. 

Going by the story, Ajith's father has two wives.  Ajith is the son of the first wife.  Suhasini is the second wife whose son is Navdeep.

There is a pair for Navdeep in the film.  Not having found any one suitable in Tamilnadu, they have imported her from the North.  Her name is Piya, a popular Mumbai model.

Suman to fight with Ajith

The erstwhile hero Suman, who made his comeback in to Tamil films with 'Sivaji' as a villain is getting more offers to act as villain. The handsome star, who fought with the Superstar in 'Sivaji', will now battle with Ajith in his forthcoming movie 'Aegan'.

Suman got the chance to act in 'Sivaji' after Prakashraj refused to act as a villain in the mega movie produced by AVM and directed by Shankar. The director then approached Suman and the rest is history.

Suman's handling of the character won him lot of accolades and he started getting calls from many filmmakers to act as villain in their films. The actor, however, was determined to act only with the big heroes and hence refused many offers that came his way.

Heaping praises on Ajit, Raju says, 'Nayantara plays the female lead and the on-screen chemistry with the hero is a major highlight'.

Ajit and Nayantara come together after the blockbuster Billa. Expectations are high among their fans.

Denying reports that the movie is a remake of the hit Hindi film, Raju says, 'it is a thriller and is loaded with action all through. Ajit has performed all the stunt sequences himself'.

Asked about the title, he says, 'it refers to the Almighty. Lord Shiva is called as Aegan by his devotees in Siva Purana. The title is quite appropriate for the story'.

Gautham teams up with Ajith

Sivaji Productions, who produced Superstar Rajinikanth's blockbuster Chandramukhi, is planning to produce a movie featuring Ultimate Star Ajith in the lead. The production house has booked Ajith for the film, which will be his next project after Raju Sundaram's 'Aegan', produced by Ayngaran International.

The big budget film will have Gautham Vasudeva Menon as its director. It would be the first time Gautham coming together with Ajith. Prabhu, one of the producers of Sivaji Productions, says that it would be a stylish action packed entertainer. The movie is likely to have music by Harris Jayaraj, Gautham Menon's favorite. The heroine could be from Bollywood.

Ajith, who is concentrating on his current project with Raju Sundaram, would come to the movie by September. Prabhu will don an important role in this project.

Ajith New Look

While his Billa is still keeping the ticket counters busy with activity, Ajith is busy shooting for his yet-untitled next venture in Hong Kong. As informed by us earlier, Ajith and the crew including director Raju Sundaram are stationed in Hong Kong for the first schedule of the actor's next venture, produced by Karunamoorthy under the Ayngaran banner.

Ajith is said to sport stubble for this movie and images made available by amateur paparazzis who managed to sneak a snap of the actor during the shoots reveal the same. Sources speak in hushed whispers that director Raju Sundaram felt Ajith's ungroomed whiskers looked good on him that he asked him not to get rid of them for the shoots and thus born a new look.

The crew will return to India after their shoots are over and proceed to Ooty for next schedule.

Ajith stepping into the shows of Sivaji

After acting in the remake of a Rajinikanth's film, Ajith is all set to act in another remake. It will be a movie that featured the legendary actor 'Nadigar Thilagam' Sivaji Ganesan.
Sivaji Productions is planning to remake Sivaji's blockbuster 'Puthiya Paravai', for which the choice of the director is yet to be decided.

Ajith will act in Sivaji's role, while Prabhu will play the role of the distinctive actor M.R. Radha. The selection of heroine and music director will be made soon. It is tipped that either K.S. Ultimate Star in remake of Main Hoon Naa ?

Followed by the success of Billa, we are sure the entire world is looking for the launch of 'Thala's next untitled movie to direct by Raju Sundaram. Now ajithfans.com has got something special about Ajith's next movie and it is going to be a remake.

Main Hoon Naa was a great hit in Bollywood starring Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmitha Sen in the lead role. The film happened to be a stupendous entertainer fetching good collections at box-office. Now with alterations, Raju Sundaram is making ready of the script and Ajith Kumar is expected to play the role of a chief investigative police officer. Meanwhile the buzz is the project has been delayed this month and kick start only next month according to the close sources of the production.

Ajith’s new film ‘Akbar’

The next film of Ajith will kick of in Hong Kong later this month. The film is yet to be tiled. The name 'Akbar' is doing the rounds but no official decision has been taken yet. Ayngaran International films are the producers. Raju Sundaram is the director. The heroine is said to have been finalized but it is still under wraps. Prabhu Deva is likely to play a cameo role in this film.

Papa Ajith pets baby Joan!

Nothing is quite as cute as a piece man cuddling a cherubic infant! That's quite what Thalai is busying him with these days!

As the devoted husband, he was beside his wife every second, a few days prior to her delivery. And now, he continues to do that but with the additional responsibility of being a devoted daddy! And who can blame him! After quite a long wait, Ajith and wife Shalini have been blessed with a child, and all they should do now is excitement over the baby!

Everybody's question 'When is the baby coming?' is now replaced with 'What are they going to name her?' Most often it is the most difficult part about having a baby – choosing the perfect name. Every one has a name to suggest!

The star couple is taking their own time to zero in on the right name, but till then, it is said daddy fondly calls her Joan! Why Joan, we don't know and whether Joan will stick on as the actual name, we'll have to wait to find out!

Will Bipasha pair with Ajith?

With Billa rocking the show, and a baby rocking his life you could say that Ajith could take a nice long vacation to soak up all the joy. But nope, later this month he will start shooting for his next project that is to be directed by Raju Sundaram. This part of the news has been making it rounds now. Well, the new addition to it is that after sweeping the country for a suitable lady lead, Raju has anchored on the hazy bong babe Bipasha. Word has it that she has been offered a pay that has several zeroes more than the pay of the highest paid Kollywood heroine! And yet Bips is still only considering!

If the rumour is to true, Bips is probably taking her time in responding to Raju because of her not very successful Kollywood stint in Sachin, where a lot of scenes that had the actress fell prey to the Censor's sheers! Ajith - Gautam to team up

Looks like Ajith is now taking additional care in choosing films. After opting for a stylish remake of Billa, the Ultimate Star is all set to star in a film by Gautam Menon, whose Kaakha Kaakha brought a unique style to Tamil cinema.

This film will be produced by Sivaji Productions. It is said that Ajith and Prabhu, who worked together for Billa, developed a good relationship and Prabhu expressed his willingness to make a movie for his home banner with Ajith in the lead.

Ajith, who has taken time off to be with his hopeful wife Shalini, will be shooting from February for Ayngaran International's Akbar, to be directed by Raju Sundaram. Gautam is currently shooting Vaaranam Aayiram with Surya and the movie will be completed soon. Once their present engagements are complete, the new project will begin.

Shreya Opts out of Ajith film

After 'Billa,' Ajith will act in choreographer/director Raju Sundaram's film. It was said that Shreya would play the heroine role.

Shreya is being showered with Hindi film offers as well as some in Telugu. In Tamil, she is acting opposite Vikram in 'Kandasamy.' Simbu is also bearing in mind her for his film. Even as Shreya is busy in India, she got this Hollywood film bid from Ashok Amritraj to play the lead in 'The Other Side of the Line.'

Because of her assurance to this Hollywood film, Shreya does not have free dates for Ajith's film. So, they are approaching Parvathi Meldon, who is acting in Telugu films, to pair opposite Ajith.

Since Parvathi Meldon is quoting extremely high rates, Tamil producers have been uncomfortable away from signing her up for their films.

KS Ravikumar to direct Ajith

Their teamwork ' Varalaaru ' and 'Villan' were mega impressive hits. Their third film together is for AVM!
After 'Billa' is over, Ajith will act in 'Akbar' directed by Raju Sundaram. Shriya is his heroine. After this, he will act in the film directed by KS Ravikumar and produced by AVM's Balasubramanian.
Since their earlier 2 films were super hits, distributors are expectant over their third group effort. For his acting in 'Varalaaru,' Ajith did not get any award from the Tamilnadu govt. KS Ravikumar has expressed disappointment over this. In fact he wonders if the selection committee had even seen 'Varalaaru.'
They hope that this new film will make up for the award that Ajith did not get for 'Varalaaru.' The fans are waiting for release of Billa!
