Aegan audio launch on Oct 9

The audio launch of Ajith's Diwali release Aegan is scheduled to take place on Oct 9 on the auspicious day of Vijayadasami.

It is a hattrick of sorts for Yuvan and Ajith after Dheena and Billa. The buzz is that the songs of Aegan are rocking. The shoot of Aegan is complete and there is just one song to be shot on the lead pair of Ajith and Nayantara.

The unit will be going to an exotic place by first week of October according to a source close to the unit. There are five songs in the film, which is produced by Ayngaran International.

Ajith on his pilgrimage Tour

Ajith seems to have acquired certain traits of religious beliefs from Rajinikanth. It was during the pre-release of Billa that Rajnikanth offered him dinner and gifted a novel called 'Living Masters of Himalayas'. And then started Ajith's new venture on religious aspects as he started making regular visits to all the temples. Recently after completing his 'Aegan', he had visited Shitty Saibaba temple and returned Chennai for dubbing.

Yesterday, he made his way to Sottanikarai Bhagavathy Amman Temple. Very shortly, he has planned to travel across Tirupathi, Kollur Thai Mugambigai and other temples.

Aegan dubbing work completed

Ultimate Star has turned more spiritual now these days that he visited and offered prayers at Shirdi Sai Baba temple last week and Chottranikarai Bhagavathy Amman temple yesterday on September 26, soon after he finished dubbing for 'Aegan' in Chennai. 

Before acting in the remake film 'Billa', he personally met and received greetings from Super Star where he was delighted with a feast and was presented a book 'Living Masters of Himalayas'. Ajith simply got immersed and overwhelmed while reading it. Rajinikanth's involvement in spirituality and his visit to temples before the release of his films are well-known. Even during the release of 'Sivaji-The Boss', Rajini made a visit to Temple in Tirupati and sought the blessings. 
 
It seems that Ajith, has started following the footsteps of Super Star in his spiritual path. Ajith too has plans to go Tirupati Lord Venkateshwara temple and to the famous Kollur Thai Mookambikai Temple whilst his aegan will release at the October end.

Ajith and Sameera joint Gautham film

We all know that Ajith's 'Aegan' is set for a Deepavali release. But, the question that lingers is, what's the next venture of the ultimate star? Talks and buzzes are going around that Ajith has joined hands for the first time with Gautham Vasudevan Menon for Sivaji Productions.

Ajith will don the role of a gangster, which he's poise in doing after 'Billa' and Sameera Reddy has been roped in to play the role of his girl friend. As usual, Gautham's Chief Marksman Harris will score the music. Nirav Shah, the man behind the grand looks of 'Billa', will wield the camera once again for this flick.

Director Gautham has suggested an attractive title 'Surangani' for the film. But the same title has been registered for another film which is under production. Sivaji Productions is currently making negotiations with the producers to acquire the same, catchy title.

The film will go to the floors in November and is slated to be released on April 14, 2009.

'Varanam Aayiram', 'Aegan' in USA

'Aegan' and 'Varanam Ayiram' are slated for release on the 24th and 28th of October respectively. Latest developments are that Bharat Creations, a leading distributor of Tamil and Telugu films in the United States of America has acquired the distribution rights for these films. Vikram's 'Kandasamy' and Vijay's 'Villu' which would release much later have also been acquired by Bharat Creations.

Both 'Varanam Ayiram' and 'Aegan' are expected to do very well. Suriya is at his best in 'Varanam Ayiram', which chronicles the life of a man from childhood to old age. Suriya has undergone drastic physical changes to portray the physical characteristics associated with youth and middle age. Surya will be seen in dual roles. For director Gautham Menon this is his seventh film and his earlier movie with Suriya "Kaaka Kaaka" turned out to be a major blockbuster. The Gautham Menon - Harris Jayaraj - Suriya team is all set to recreate the magic once again. Sameera Reddy, Divya Spandana and Simran co-star with Suriya.

'Aegan' is the debut film for Raju Sundaram as director. The film stars Ajith and is the remake of the successful Hindi movie 'Main Hoon Na'. Nayantara, Navdeep, Suhasini Ratnam, Nassar and Jayaram will also be seen in the film. The combo of Ajith and Nayantara is highly anticipated as both sizzled together in 'Billa'. Ajith - Nayantara - Yuvan Shankar Raja, the people behind 'Billa' are expected to conjure the magic once again with 'Aegan'.

Vijay & Ajith in AVM

Villu team is back from their Euro trip that lasted for about a month. As soon as the crew returned, the next leg of shooting seemed to have begun at AVM Studios. Scenes of Nayantara meeting Vijay in his office, the plush interiors of which were made to reflect an office abroad, were shot. Although the team was in Europe for quite some time, the indoor shoots that demand continuity are to be shot in Chennai.

Interestingly, Ajith has also been spotted these days in the AVM Studios. Aegan is more or less wrapped up completely and is ready for a Diwali release. Post-production works are in full swing and Ajith is busy with the dubbing which would go on for three days, sources mentioned.

Ajith's next film?

After 'aegan,' Ajith had given his call sheet to AVM. It is supposed to be directed by Gautham Vasudeva Menon but it seems the director is yet to tell the story to the producer.

'Arasangam' Madesh had narrated a story to Ajith, who liked it and that set Madesh working on the next step. A catchy title like 'Thalaivan' is ready too. So, would Ajith do the AVM film or Madesh film next?

The story tellers are biting their nails in anxiety!

Aegan - Jayaram Press meet

Actor Jayaram seems to be the toast of Tamil Cinema after being part of the successful ventures 'Dhaam Dhoom' and 'Saroja'.

On opting to play a baddie in 'Dhaam Dhoom', he said, "I was not keen to do a negative role. In my career which has spanned over 25 years, I was approached for the first time to play a villain. It lured me and hence I agreed. But then the role was a portrayal in a dignified manner".

Shooting for 'Saroja' was a terrific experience. Everyone was friendly on the sets and the youngsters involved in the project had the fire in them to succeed. Shooting for the movie was indeed a great joy'.

On his forthcoming film 'Aegan' in which he is cast alongside Ajith, Jayaram, said, "I play a comical role in the film. I appear all through the movie. I am sure it will bring the roof down in theaters with laughter".

Complimenting Ajith, he says, "He is a man of dedication. He speaks less but lets his films do the talking. He is one of the focused artistes in the industry".

Aegan in Piya

Piya who made her debut in Poi Solla Porom said," I was acting In Ad films in Mumbai. I had acted in an Ad film directed by Priyadarshan. He called me for the photo session of Poi Solla Porom. He selected me and I was the heroine of this film Poi Solla Porom. While I was acting in this film I also received an offer for Ajith's starrer Aegan.

Not much prominence was given to hero or heroine in the film Poi Solla Porom but there was a story. It is better to act in such films like this then to act for three hours in a film without a story. Though film with subject, our scope is limited but it is worth it. I am pairing with Navdeep in the film Aegan. I did not have many scenes to share with Ajith. I can never forget Ajith's appreciation. I will be the turning point in this film. I have a fascination to act in Hindi films. Talks are on to do a Hindi film. I will announce once this is confirmed. It is not true that I have changed my name as Preethi."

Yuvan Sankar Raja Audio Launch on Aegan and Silambattam

Yuvan Shankar Raja is going to have back-to-back audio launches. It is a rare feat for a music director to have audio launches of two of his films, one after another.

On September 30, the audio of Simbu's Silambattam, which has music by Yuvan is scheduled.

Simbu and Yuvan have always rocked together from Manmathan to Vallavan. So a lot is riding on Silambattam's music.

Next day on October 1, is the audio launch of Ajith's Aegan. Who can forget the peppy songs of the deadly combo in Dheena and Billa ?

Recently Ajith had told Raju Sundaram, the director of the film that he is very happy with the music of Aegan.

Ajith and Sameera Reddy joint new Film

Samira Reddy makes her debut in Kollywood through the film 'Vaaranam Aayiram', directed by Gautham Menon starring Surya and Sameera.'Vaaranam Aayiram' crew promises that we can see more of her once the film hits the screens.
 
Samira Reddy has been roped in to feature opposite Ajith in a yet to be titled movie which is produced by Sivaji Productions and Gautham Menon wields the Megaphone.

This is the first time that Gautham and Ajith are coming together and  Gautham's chief marksman Harris Jayaraj is teaming up for Music to stun in this film too, as the duo has never parted or fallen short of expectations.
 
The movie would go to the floors on second of November soon after Ajith's 'Aegan' gets released on October 28.

Aegan Diwali Release

Ayngaran international produced 'Aegan' is slated for a deepavali release making Thala fans more euphoric and would sure be an extravagance for the thunderous festival.

A release on Deepavali is considered to bring fortune for the Star. His earlier films like 'Varalaru', 'Amarkalam' released on the day of Deepavali turned out as big hits at the box office and reaped accolades.
 
Renowned Choreographer Raju Sundaram makes his directorial debut through this film. After the terrific success of 'Billa', Nayanthara once again shares screen space with Ajith.

'Arinthum Ariyamalum' fame Navdeep is in to enact a key role, while Suhasini Maniratnam, Nasser, Jayaram, Sree Man, Suman also play prominent roles in this flick.
 
Inspired by the Bollywood hit 'Main Hoon Na', Aegan was shot in Hyderabad, Yercaud and in many exquisite locales of Hong Kong and Bangkok. Music for Aegan is set to tunes by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the audio launch is expected to be in early October.

Aegan shooting completed

Aegan, directed by Raju Sundaram, starring ultimate star Ajith and Nayanthara is complete and the film is ready for post production and some patch work. Insiders reveal that the film is certain to make its mark and has shaped up very well. Now that Ajith has completed this project, he has some free time which he is putting into optimum use like spending quality time with his little princess Anoushka.

Close friends reveal that the doting dad is showering his daughter with gifts galore. The recent addition to this list is an expensive toy plane costing around twenty lakhs which is said to be controlled by remote control and could fly at a particular distance. Though Anoushka may not know to operate this right now as she is very young, she may start playing with it later. Readers may recall that Ajith has earlier gifted wife Shalini a remote controlled plane costing around few lakhs.

Ajith in AVM’s Production again

These biggies had joined for the film biggest hit 'Thirupathi' and now they are back again.Ajith is AVM's next option for a film to be produced at a big budget directed by SP.Jananathan.This director is the quintessential illustration of mixing the best commercial attributes with an exceptional storyline and perhaps Ajith would score his best with it. At present, both the personalities are busy shooting for Aegan and SP.Jananathan with 'Peranmai' featuring Jeyam Ravi in lead.

Soon after both completing their projects they would be joining hands and meanwhile AVM too will have Surya's Ayan completed and hitting the screens…

Nayantara - Aegan Vs Villu

Nayantara and she will tell you about how she discovered that staying on top is harder than getting there. She is a star who not only outlasts her flops but is forgiven for them.

After two consecutive duds like Kuselan and Sathyam (her biggest flop) Nayantara still rules Kollywood. But post Sathyam release, the actress was consciously avoiding the media, refusing to speak about her future moves and has a wall around her.

Recently the media went to town about her salary (rumoured to be between Rs 1.25 to 1.50) which is the highest paypacket any Tamil heroine gets. Kindly discount Aishwarya Rai getting Rs 6 crore to do Endhiran, because it's an exception.

The whole issue of her salary was stirred up after Lingusamy signed her up to do a film at a whopping rate with Karthik. There were rumours that he was not happy about paying her such a fat salary, after Sathyam fiasco and was on the lookout for another heroine.

Says the leading distributor in Tamilnadu: " Nayantara is the only heroine today who commands an opening, as she is able to attract the youth and family audiences. Her combination with superstars work wonders for the film. But if the story of the film is weak no superstar or super heroine can save the film. "In a way, Nayantara makes the marketing of Aegan and Villu easier for its producers Ayngaran International. Of course the success of these two films will determine whether she gets another round with them.

Aegan Audio launch on October 2

Ayngaran Films International is busy producing couple of big stars films at the same time: Vijay's Villu and Ajith's Aegan. Both the films are directed by brother directors each: Aegan – Raju Sundaram and Villu by Prabhu Deva. Since, releasing both the films would drop in the collections of each other; London Karunaas of Ayngaran Films has decided not to let the films clash. So, Ajith's Aegan would release for the occasion of Diwali while Villu will hit the screens for Pongal.

All the songs tuned by Yuvan Shankar have been churned out well. Earlier, both the duo had swayed together consecutively for the films 'Dheena' and 'Billa'. Audio for the film was supposed to be launched by this month and now it has been postponed to the first week of October. Buzzes are that it would be launched on the occasion of October 2 for Gandhi Jayanthi…

Remaking Hindi films in Kollywood

'Guru En Aalu' starring Madhavan is the remake of Shahrukh Khan's 'Yes Boss', while Ajith's under-production venture 'Aegan' is an adaptation of the Hindi hit 'Main Hoon Na'. Efforts are now on to do the Tamil remake of the Hindi blockbuster 'Jab We Met' which featured Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles.

The recently released 'Poi Solla Porom', directed by Vijay and produced by UTV and Four Frames, is a xerox copy of the Bollywood comedy caper 'Khosla Ka Ghosla'.

Fresh reports indicate that P Vasu is planning to do the Tamil version of 'Baazigar'.

Say industry men, 'with corporates from Mumbai stepping in to do Tamil movies, it is obvious that several Hindi films are being remade in Tamil. Moreover, after Bollywood, Tamil Cinema has huge global audiences. Therefore it is obvious that we are opting for the remake of Hindi hits'.

Aegan Vs Vaaranam Aayiram

Vaaranam Aayiram has been creating huge hype, more so because of the delays that it encountered. The latest buzz is that the shooting has been completed and just a few patchworks are on. It is now confirmed that Vaaranam Aayiram will make it to the theatres for Deepavali. A fitting competition for Vaaranam Aayiram will be Aegan, which has Ajith in the lead. Aegan, in fact has been targeting a Deepavali  release right from the beginning and is working towards it.

With the two big star of Kollywood  Surya and Ajith  ready to hit the silver screens on Deepavali fans are sure to be in for a treat. The Gautham Menon , Surya, Harris Jeyaraj combo in Vaaranam Aayiram and Raju Sundaram , Ajith, Nayantara, Yuvan Shankar Raja combo in Aegan is bound to make Deepavali celebrations even more explosive.

Diwali release

Diwali 2008, traditionally the second biggest festival in Tamilnadu is round the corner (October 27). As usual, Kollywood producers, distributors are just waking up to the season, and the line-up is still not clear.

As of now, no theatre has any confirmed booking for Diwali films. Some producers and distributors have asked them to block the dates, further to negotiations. Seven films are looking at a Diwali release, depending on MG amount and theatre dates.

The producers, who are now talking of a Diwali release, need not release it for the festival. It depends on a lot of factors and as all of them are yet to release their audio. The list may change at the last minute as some may opt out while others may come in.

The tentative list is as follows.

Aegan to release on Diwali

The much-awaited Ajith-starrer Aegan where he pairs up with Nayantara, the queen of South India, will have its audio launch on 11th October.  The film will be released during Diwali. This is not the first time that Ajith and Nayantara are paired together. Earlier, the remake Billa featured them both and was a big hit.

Aegan, which started shooting in late 2007, has completed the schedule and is now in its post production stage. Directed by Raju Sundaram, the film also features Navdeep, Suhasini, Nassar and Jayaram. Yuvanshakar Raja scores the music for Aegan which is produced by Karunamurthy and distributed by Ayngaran International.
